QR Handy Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 11, 2026

Effective Date: October 11, 2026

QR Handy ("QR Handy," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to handling your information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the QR Handy mobile application ("App" or "Service"), how it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

QR Handy allows you to scan QR codes, create QR codes, view scanning and creation history, share content through the system share panel, and copy text.

Please read this Policy before using the App. Any consent required for a particular processing activity will be requested separately through the applicable permission or consent interface.

1 Information We Process

The information processed through QR Handy depends on the features you use and the content you provide.

QR Code Scanning and Creation

When you scan or create a QR code, the App may process:

·         Camera content used to detect and read a QR code;

·         Text or other information decoded from a scanned QR code;

·         Text or information that you type or paste to create a QR code;

·         The QR code generated from that information; and

·         Content you select for copying or sharing.

A QR code may contain personal information, such as a name, email address, phone number, web address, network credentials, or other details. The information processed depends on what the code contains or what you choose to encode.

Scanning and Creation History

QR Handy retains records of scanned and created QR codes so you can view them in the App's history. These records may include decoded content, information used to create a QR code, and generated QR codes. History records may contain personal information if that information was included in the scanned or created content.

History-deletion options may not be available in the App. Storage and retention are described in Section 8.

Device and Usage Information

We or our third-party service providers may automatically collect limited technical information, including:

·         Device model, device type, operating system, and App version;

·         Device language, regional settings, screen size, and general device configuration;

·         IP address and network connection type;

·         App launches, sessions, features used, and interactions within the App;

·         Advertising identifiers, where permitted; and

·         Crash reports, diagnostic information, and performance data.

This information may be used to operate the App, understand general usage, provide and measure advertising, troubleshoot problems, and improve stability.

Support Communications

If you contact us, we may process your email address, message, and any information you choose to provide so that we can respond to your inquiry or privacy request.

2 Device Permissions

Camera

Camera access is used to detect and read QR codes when you activate the scanning feature. You can allow or deny access through the system permission prompt and change your choice in your device settings. If access is denied, camera-based QR code scanning will not be available.

Advertising and Tracking Authorization

Where the operating system or applicable law requires authorization or consent for advertising identifiers, tracking, or personalized advertising, we will request it through the applicable system prompt or consent interface.

Device permissions are separate from any additional consent required by law for collecting, transmitting, or using personal information.

3 How We Use Information

We may use information processed through QR Handy to:

·         Detect and read QR codes and display their content;

·         Create QR codes from information you provide;

·         Maintain and display scanning and creation history;

·         Allow you to copy text and share selected content;

·         Operate, maintain, and improve the App;

·         Analyze general feature usage and performance;

·         Diagnose crashes, errors, and technical problems;

·         Protect the security and integrity of the Service;

·         Display and measure advertisements, subject to applicable consent requirements;

·         Respond to support inquiries and privacy requests; and

·         Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use QR code content or history to determine your eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, healthcare, or other similarly significant decisions.

4 Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

·         Performance of the Service: Processing necessary to provide a feature you request, such as scanning or creating a QR code, displaying history, copying text, or sharing content;

·         Consent: Processing based on your consent where required, including certain advertising, tracking, or access to device resources;

·         Legitimate Interests: Maintaining the App, understanding general usage, preventing misuse, and improving stability, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and

·         Legal Obligations: Processing required to comply with applicable law or valid legal requests.

You may withdraw consent through the relevant device settings or any applicable consent controls made available in the App, or contact us for assistance. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

5 Advertising

QR Handy may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising partners. These providers may process advertising identifiers, IP addresses, device and operating-system details, App interactions, advertising performance information, and an approximate region inferred from an IP address.

Where required, personalized advertising or tracking will be used only after the necessary consent or authorization has been obtained.

We do not provide scanned QR code content, information entered to create QR codes, generated QR codes, or scanning and creation history to advertising partners for the purpose of creating personalized advertisements.

Advertising choices may be available through your device settings or the applicable consent interface. Limiting personalized advertising does not necessarily stop advertisements from being displayed.

6 Copying and System Sharing

Copying and Pasting

When you use the copy feature, the selected text is placed on your device's clipboard. Other applications may access that content according to your actions and the operating system's controls. When you paste text into QR Handy, the App processes the pasted content to perform the action you request.

System Share Panel

When you tap Share, QR Handy opens the operating system's share panel. If you select and complete a sharing action, the chosen QR code or text is made available to the application, service, or recipient you select.

The receiving application or service handles shared content under its own privacy practices. Sharing does not automatically remove the corresponding record from QR Handy's history.

Creating a QR code does not by itself make its content confidential. Anyone who obtains the code may be able to read its content using a compatible scanner.

7 Data Sharing and Disclosure

Information may be shared in the following circumstances:

Actions You Request

Selected content may be provided to another application, service, or recipient when you choose to share it through the system share panel or paste copied text elsewhere.

Service Providers

Providers supporting advertising, analytics, crash reporting, technical operations, or customer support may process the limited technical or contact information needed for those services, subject to applicable law and consent requirements.

Legal Requirements and Security

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or legally valid government requests, or to investigate security incidents, prevent fraud or misuse, and protect the rights and safety of users, the public, or the Service.

We do not sell scanned QR code content, content entered to create QR codes, generated QR codes, or scanning and creation history for monetary payment.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we apply the safeguards required by applicable law. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your information.

8 Data Storage and Retention

QR Handy retains scanning and creation records to provide the history feature. The App may not offer a control for deleting individual records or clearing the entire history.

Information stored locally remains on your device until it is removed through an available App or operating-system control. Removing the App and its associated local data may remove locally stored records, subject to your device's operating system and backup settings.

Removing local App data does not necessarily delete copies in device or cloud backups, content already copied or shared, or information previously received by a third-party service.

Technical, diagnostic, advertising, and support information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, taking into account the type of information, applicable service-provider retention practices, and legal, security, or dispute-resolution requirements.

You may contact us to request deletion of eligible personal information. The availability of an in-App history-deletion feature does not determine your statutory privacy rights. Where records exist only on your device and are not accessible to us, we may need to explain the available device controls rather than remove those records remotely.

9 Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include access restrictions, data minimization, encrypted network transmission where appropriate, and review of service-provider safeguards.

We require third parties that receive personal information from us to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection as described in this Policy and required by applicable law. Where applicable, we require appropriate contractual protections concerning processing purposes, confidentiality, security, retention, deletion, and onward sharing.

No internet transmission, electronic storage system, or security measure can guarantee absolute security. Consider the sensitivity of information before encoding it in a QR code, copying it, or sharing it.

10 Your Privacy Rights and Choices

You can change camera permissions and applicable advertising or tracking choices through your device settings or available consent controls. Revoking camera permission stops future camera access; it does not automatically delete existing history records.

Depending on your country or region and the law that applies, you may have the right to:

·         Request access to personal information associated with you;

·         Request correction of inaccurate information;

·         Request deletion of eligible information;

·         Request restriction of certain processing;

·         Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests;

·         Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;

·         Request a portable copy of eligible information;

·         Opt out of applicable sales, sharing, or targeted advertising; and

·         Lodge a complaint with the appropriate data-protection authority.

Some technical or de-identified information may not be associated with a specific individual. We may request reasonable information to locate relevant records and, where permitted or required, verify your request. We will not require identity verification for an opt-out request where applicable law prohibits it.

To exercise an applicable privacy right, contact us using the information in Section 16.

11 California Privacy Notice

If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete eligible personal information, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and opt out of applicable sales or sharing.

The categories of information and processing purposes are described in Sections 1 and 3. The categories of recipients and retention criteria are described in Sections 7 and 8.

We do not sell QR code content or history for monetary payment. Certain third-party advertising activities may constitute a sale or sharing under California law, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where applicable, you may submit an opt-out request through the available privacy controls or by contacting us. We honor applicable opt-out preference signals where required by law.

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request, subject to applicable verification requirements. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

12 European Privacy Rights

If the GDPR or similar European privacy laws apply to you, you may exercise the rights described in Section 10, subject to the conditions and exceptions in the applicable law.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and request information about safeguards for international data transfers. You also have the right to submit a complaint to the data-protection authority responsible for your country or region.

13 Privacy of Children

QR Handy is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where applicable law requires a higher age threshold or parental consent, those requirements apply.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through QR Handy without any required parental consent, please contact us. We will review the matter and take appropriate steps to delete eligible information.

14 Cookies and Similar Technologies

QR Handy does not directly use browser cookies as part of its primary mobile functionality. Third-party SDKs may use advertising identifiers, device identifiers, local storage, or similar technologies for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and service measurement.

Controls for these technologies depend on the provider, device, region, and applicable consent requirements.

15 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to QR Handy, service providers, legal requirements, or privacy practices. When it changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date.

Where required, we will provide additional notice through the App or another appropriate method and obtain any necessary consent. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
